Message from Stephanie Richards Artistic Director of ACT
I welcome you on behalf of the family of Artists Collaborative Theatre, Inc. (ACT). ACT, a young theatre company nestled in the heart of Elkhorn City, the southeastern quadrant of Pike County, celebrates the completion of its third full season of programming and fifth year as a sustainable 501c3 (non-profit) incorporation. ACT provides entertaining & educational experiences of our Appalachian mountain heritage through collaboration.
ACT is committed to quality productions and educational programming through the collaboration of artists; including ensemble members, volunteers, guest artists, arts organizations and community. Act offers year-round theatre programming including; dramas, comedies, musicals and ACT1 theatre of young people. There is talent and interest in these mountains as well as the desire and work ethic to fulfill this community dream.
Your financial support will help ACT skillfully serve the people deep in the mountains of eastern Kentucky, beginning in Elkhorn City and extending beyond including Pikeville, Prestonsburg, Lexington, Kentucky and southwestern Virginia. We can deliver a year-round professional level theatre program that offers an environment of learning, growth and cultural exchange to all who partake. From The Kentucky Cycle to the Kentucky Women’s Playwright Festival, ACT serves Kentucky – from the mountains.
As a believer and supporter of our community, I am writing with the heartfelt belief that you also want our people to have every advantage possible. History demonstrates all strong societies celebrate a strong arts foundation. Knowing these things, welcomes your assistance in bringing quality theatre arts programming to our Appalachian mountains.
Please donate and contribute to the economic growth of our area while allowing ACT to fulfill our mission: To create and advance cultural exposure to and training in the performing arts for area residents and visitors and to provide educational experiences of our mountain Appalachian heritage through a collaborative effort.
